CLEVELAND,  OH  -  The Cleveland Indians today announced Single-A Carolina RHP CODY ANDERSON has been named the Indians Minor League Player of the Week for May 13-20.
 
Anderson, 22, went 1-1 with a 0.73 ERA (1 ER/12.1 IP) in 2 starts during the week. On May 14, he allowed just one earned run on 4 hits through 6.0 innings while striking out a season-high 9 batters vs. Salem. He followed that up with 6.1 scoreless innings in a May 19th start over Lynchburg (W, 6.1 IP, 4 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 7 SO). Throughout the week, Anderson led the Carolina League in strikeouts (16) and was 3rd in ERA (0.73) on his way to CL Pitcher of the Week honors.  On the season, he is a Carolina League best 5-2 with a 2.41 ERA (14 ER/52.1 IP) through 9 starts.  He is 4th in the league in ERA.
